Gone

A fantasy, inspired by a true event.

After Charley dies in her office chair, how is it that she finds herself propelled into the mysterious world of Avalon?

Upon encountering an essence, which insists is her daughter – the one she knows she left behind – insanity battles with fear inside her mind. The further she delves, the more puzzling things appear, especially after she rises into the Orb of Caprice – a realm of fairies, talking flowers and goblins…and something else, something that lurks in the shadows ready to swallow her whole.

Can she realise in time what it is she must do…or has she left it too late?

Gone is a story inspired by a true event.

13 - Kindle

What is found within the depths of the human soul? Does wickedness linger, as if the Devil’s thumb is ready to pluck the strings of certain choices?

And with the strumming, just how far will Evil spread?

13 is the story of random souls pitted against the tragedy of the modern world. What is their connection, if any?

Nameless; are these merely humans whose weaknesses force them to commit heinous crimes, or demons under the skin, aware of their sins yet indifferent to the outcome? Will they decipher the unknown and make it out alive?

Who is watching, what is the end?

Paperback - Lulu

13 examines the modern world, its failings, its image, its ever increasing race to destruction – its collapse of values meant to further mankind rather than annihilate. It questions choices, peering into the distorted ethics and morals of where humanity stands today, what it has lost and whether or not there is any hope for the future.

If morals have become simplistic and vague, tainted intellectually and rigid, can it only give rise to succumbing to personal motives and flaws, focussing only on self-preservation? Or is it a result of what has been lost in the face of progress?

Where such ideology needs re-evaluating; where tradition, continuity, conservation, stability and constraints on behaviour have great value...maybe progress is the expression of ruin after all?

13 wallows in horror, not only in blood but the psychological neglect of why the modern world must be wary of its way forward and not succumb to self-interests, where greed, amongst other negative traits, is personified to such an extent that nothing is left to save us.

13 could be seen as a résumé of failures, yet, for those who read it, maybe it will filter enough into consciousness that the tide may be turned. Or perhaps Destiny has other ideas?

Knowing Jack

Twelve-year-old Jack knows they shouldn't go but is unable to persuade his parents not to take the planned trip to the Lake District.

Something was going to happen but what?

The weird feelings he had were always so fuzzy and they didn't always make sense.

Maybe it was just because he'd have to spend time with his pampered cousin, Rosie?

Anyway, it was nearly Christmas and what could go wrong with just staying in some cabin in the woods?

He was being stupid...all he had to do was ignore the way his belly churned and his head pounded.

He might be wrong after all.

Of Sound Mind

Jorja always knew she was different. But it wasn’t until she discovered her telekinetic ability that she realised just how different she was.Living with her frail mother and an obsessive, cruel and hated aunt, Jorja grapples with the truth of her being.

As her story is revealed, other powers are uncovered – not least that she can see other people’s souls in the colours that surround them – and we are led into a surprising and shocking world of fantasy, forcing doubt as to the sanity of the heroine.

We follow Jorja’s life, delving into her loves, hates and fears though cannot help but delight in the woman she becomes, despite the question which hangs mysteriously in the air.

It will be up to the reader to decide if Mageia and its diverse inhabitants are indeed real or only the illusionary world created by a disturbed mind, due, not only to grief but also to her persecution by her aunt and the defective qualities of a barbarous doctor.

Although the story is resolved, questions will remain.
